Join NCSU’s department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning for PARK(ing) Day 2021 on Centennial Campus! Come enjoy lunch or an after work social hour in an upcycled park installation designed by graduate landscape architecture students, and learn more about the importance of reducing the use of single-use plastics.
For all who submitted for NCASLA Awards this spring, we apologize that the wait for word has been a long one. Award winners have been notified and we are working diligently in the face of ever-changing COVID restrictions to bring to you a proper celebration of those winning firms, project work, and individuals and their efforts.
We are always looking for those of you who would like to be more involved with the state chapter and who are looking for ways to get introduced to the types of volunteer service that members can offer and that we on the Chapter Executive Committee appreciate so very much. NCASLA is issuing a Call for Proposals for conference that takes place from May 19-21, 2022 at the Hotel Ballast in Wilmington, NC. We invite landscape architects, academics, allied professionals and vendors to the profession to submit proposals that fit this year’s conference theme. Please submit your proposal via our online form by midnight, November 19, 2021.
An iAdvocate alert was sent on August 30 requesting our members respond to their representative asking to have the language of HB 496 The Tree Ordinance bill removed from the budget.
This bill doesn’t allow Municipalities from creating a tree ordinance which in turn protects our states magnificent trees.
Join a one hour walk through Sarah P. Duke Gardens on Thursday, September 30th, 2021 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. You'll learn about different stone materials and applications will be identified and discussed. Master Stone Mason and Artisan Brooks Burleson will also be participating in the event to present his work throughout the gardens.
