Thank You for Attending the 2022 North Carolina Conference on Landscape Architecture
by Jael Wagoner, PLA, ASLA and Dan Lambert, PLA, ASLA
After a long delay due to the pandemic, NCASLA finally held our 2022 Conference on Landscape Architecture at the Hotel Ballast in Wilmington NC on May 19 – 21. After two virtual events, our return to an in-person conference was marked by record high attendance with 260 members and non-members present!
In addition to a successful in-person conference, we were finally able to convene an in-person Awards Gala to celebrate both the 2021 and 2022 NCASLA Award Winners. It was a special evening that saw 22 award winners including a President's Council Award to Emily Buehrer-Douglas of Stimmel, PA for her accomplishments and mentorship efforts, and the North Carolina Award for lifetime achievement to Susan Hatchell, FASLA of Susan Hatchell Landscape Architecture, PLLC. All-in-all, it was a great night with good food and even better fellowship as we celebrate the best of our state's work for the last two years. Congratulations to all of the award winners.
As you know, this event would not be possible without the support of great sponsors. NCASLA would like to thank our Overall Conference Sponsor, the North Carolina Arboretum, and recognize our event/session sponsors Pine Hall Brick, Carolina Parks and Play, Barrs Recreational, the North Carolina Board of Landscape Architects and McAdams. Without each and every one of them, this conference would not have been possible.
NCASLA would also like to thank the conference exhibitors for participating in the Conference Tradeshow. Thank you so much for your continued support of our membership and our profession.
