Results From the 2022 Member Survey
by Drake Fowler
We had a great response from our 2022 survey. Thank you!
The Executive Committee uses these results to shape the strategy and approach throughout the year. We thought it was important to share some of the emerging trends with you.
North Carolina ASLA has a strong membership and the demographics of that membership are ever changing, we are committed to addressing the issues that you see as most important.
Here are some of the results that we found interesting:
85% of survey respondents had either 0-3 years’ experience or 10+ years of experience.
Post pandemic, our members top priorities are getting back to in person activities but also want to see more concise virtual CEU options including a virtual conference option.
We heard loud and clear that we need to make sure that our conference attendees must be able to earn 10 CEU hours. We will make this a priority for future conferences.
The most popular ways our membership receive news from us is through our newsletter and direct email.
Licensure and State Advocacy in every question scored high as a priority. We agree that this is a critical function of NCASLA.
Climate change, social justice, park and recreation, transportation, and stormwater continue to be the top priorities for our membership.
Learning about designing for equity and inclusion is a top interest for our membership.
Across many of the questions, we saw an interest in professional development in skills such as writing, public speaking, and business management. We need to look for ways to cover these topics within the context of health safety and welfare of the general public.
Most of our membership is planning on renewing next year which is a really positive sign that our organization is strong.
We must continue to make the chapter better and your feedback is critical to our future success.
As noted above, you stated your top priorities are getting back to in person activities. Additionally, you said you want to see more concise virtual CEU options including a virtual conference option. Please fill out this brief survey to help us plan events in 2023 that serve you.
