NCASLA 2022 - 2023 Executive Committee Candidates Announced
NCASLA presents the following as the 2022 - 2023 Executive Committee candidates. Voting members should have received the ballot in their email. If you did not receive your ballot, please contact info@ncasla.org.
President - Elect
Drake Fowler, The North Carolina Arboretum
Drake Fowler serves as Deputy Executive Director for The North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, leading finance, operations, information technology, and development. He serves on the Arboretum’s six-person executive leadership group, and as president of The North Carolina Arboretum Society, a $6 million non-profit corporation. He recently completed the UNC System’s Executive Leadership Institute as a member of the first cohort.
Before joining the Arboretum in 2015, Drake worked twelve years with Design Workshop as operations manager for both the Asheville and Denver offices, while serving as lead project manager for a number of high profile projects around the world, including the LEED Platinum Sierra Nevada Brewery complex in Western North Carolina.
Drake holds a B.A. degree in landscape architecture and a Master of Business Administration degree. Drake was elected to be the National Student Representative to ASLA and has served multiple terms on the North Carolina ASLA executive committee during recent years. He serves on the American Public Garden Association’s Chief Financial Officers working group, which creates a collaborative platform for CFOs to share benchmarking data and strategy.
Drake is the co-author of A Guide to Strategic Planning: How to Build & Critique a Plan with Data and Research.
Treasurer
Lora Greco, City of Raleigh Parks
Lora Greco is a Capital Projects Engineering Supervisor with the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department. She has practiced landscape architecture in both the private and public sector for over fifteen years. Lora has been a member of ASLA since her undergraduate studies at NCSU's College of Design and has been a full member since 2008. She served as NCASLA's Treasurer for three years before being elected to serve as president-elect, president, and immediate past president. Lora serves ASLA on the national level as an officer for the Parks and Recreation PPN and a member of the Policy Committee. At work, Lora manages a team of landscape architects and engineers to implement the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department's capital improvement projects, which involves scoping and budgeting of projects, administration of contracts through public participation, design, and construction.
Lora holds a bachelor of landscape architecture from North Carolina State University and a master of city and regional planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is licensed to practice landscape architecture in North Carolina and South Carolina. Lora is excited about the opportunity to continue contributing to NCASLA as the next Treasurer.
Charlotte Section Chair
Ellen Joseph, Urban Design Partners
Ellen has been a Landscape Designer at Urban Design Partners for 2 years. She moved to Charlotte from Indiana, where she graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Spanish in 2021. She was a member of the Sigma Lambda Alpha Honor Society and worked as a landscape designer for the campus as well as a design assistant at the Center for Community and Environment Design. Throughout her time in Landscape Architecture, Ellen has worked on a variety of projects such as memorial parks, recovery centers, commercial developments, single and multi-family plans, and more. Some of Ellen’s career goals include obtaining her license and being a part of award-winning projects. She was a 2021 Honor and Merit Award recipient through the Indiana chapter of ASLA.
In her free time, Ellen enjoys baking bread, collecting house plants, doting on her cat, Flora, and playing board games with her (soon to be) husband, Brad.
Triangle Section Chair
Brittain Allison, Cline Design Associates
A unique blend of architect and urban designer, Brittain's experience and insight have shaped numerous projects, blending the built and natural environments. His understanding of architecture allows him to interpret and discover relationships between buildings and the public realm; creating one-of-a-kind places. He has contributed to the design of numerous municipal and privately funded projects including master plans and site plans for complex, mixed-use developments, multi-family communities, and offices.

Dan Lambert, McAdams
Dan is the Director of Landscape Architecture in the McAdams Charlotte oce.His 22-year career has been spent creating inspired designs for places for people. His design philosophy is to create beloved places that become a part of its users' story. Dan focuses on designing for ease of access and use by the greatest number of people.
Dan spent the early part of his career in his home state of Colorado and later moved to Myrtle Beach, SC. Six years ago, Dan made the move from Myrtle to Charlotte and has never looked back. His design experience is broad in scope, project types, and geographic reach and he has project work in 20+ states and the Bahamas.
