The NCASLA office received notification that Luther E. Smith passed away this week.

Smith was an NCASLA Past President and the owner of Luther Smith & Associates, a landscape architecture firm in Hendersonville.

Mr. Smith was a mentor and leader in the field, earning an award for Best Outdoor Space Improvement for the Downtown Hendersonville Main Street Streetscape Rehabilitation Project in the 2014 N.C. Main Street Awards Competition.
