The biophilia hypothesis is the idea that humans have an inherited need to connect to nature and other biotic forms due to our evolutionary dependence on it for survival and personal fulfillment.  In this session, three members of Surface 678 will present the influence of biophilia on their three NCASLA Award winning projects: the BB&T Leadership Institute (Honor Award for General Design), the Restoration of the South Ellerbe Tributaries (Recognition Award for Analysis and Planning), and Beach Bluff County Park Master Plan (Merit Award for Analysis and Planning).
